View Full Version : Replacing Campagnolo Brake Pads
Is there a trick to replacing Campagnolo brake pads? I'm trying to slide in new pads and the after about half way it becomes very difficult. I'm putting them in the correct way, but the effort is ridculous! Does anyone have any tips for installation?
TIA,
Antonio

If they are like mine, they slide in the direction of wheel rotation so they can't accidentally come out. So any slippy slidy material to help them in would do. I might go with wet soap or even a dab of oil.

Yes, they can be difficult. Try lubricating the pad first, with soap or liquid detergent. Something that can be washed off easily afterwards.

compress them in a vice and tap them in with a small rubber mallet, no lube needed
Use isopropyl alcohol as a lubricant. Works great and then evaporates.
Actually, .25. Use a quarter between your thumb and the pad to push in the last half of the pad. No vice needed. And, as stated above, a little slippery stuff helps.

This is the best way I've found to do it. Clamp the pad and the holder slides off pretty easily.
