OK. There's only so much spinach, lima beans and tofu I can stomach. Calories and good nutrition aside, what is your all-time favorite comfort food? Mine is Kraft Mac N' Cheese.

Gee, I was expecting fried clams or maybe calamari from you.

Clams are king around here, for certain, but there is something real old school about baked haddock ... even pre-dates the fried clam. I have visions of my grandmother singlehandedly putting out one hundred plus orders at lunch. Back then, luncheon specials were .99 and included coffee and dessert.

Mac and Cheese for nutritious comfort food, a great Key Lime pie for guilty food. And once a year my wife makes Crabbie Patties (English muffins, lump crab and Olde English cheese baked in the oven) - I scoffed at this recipe until I tried it.

BTW, if you love home made M&C and think Kraft M&C is only loved by lunatics, Trader Joe's frozen M&C is absolutely phenomenal as a 2nd choice to home made.

Winter: Chili con Carne with either my Cuban Black peppers or a couple of peach Habineros over jasmine rice.

Spring: Baked ham w/ pineapple and mashed potatos

Summer: Bergers and corn on the cob.

Fall: Ribs done in beer and finished up with my sauce and a side of maccaroni salad. (TT & Smiley: those are not pork ribs to you, smoked duck ribs) :p

a crab tunamelt, sounds tasty. you put mayo in there? i might be tempted to junk that up by switching out the english cheese with a velvetta slice and parm. take away my foodie card if you must but when i go to the dark side ...

dauwhe, given where you live, I'm very dissappointed. Don't you mean chocolate frappe? ;)

And if you really meant a frappe, then it HAS to be a black & white frappe from Cabot's in Newton or Brighams before they went all commercial and mall store-esque.
