bro i know a cat that has a lil shop he paints the tri cats bars cos on all the salt water they get everywhere under the tape

There are a couple shops that will powdercoat or enamel bars. If it floats your boat, that's great. If you're putting brake levers on, don't paint under the brake levers -- it makes them slip. And either paint or powdercoat is quite slippery in the wet. Lastly, enamel does wear through and then looks rather funky (not like a nice old black enamel Leica that is considered to develop "patina" instead). If you powdercoat, don't let them powdercoat the clamp area for the stem -- that requires special masking since the powdercoat likes to go everywhere.

Lynskey seems to be pretty big on it lately. In fact, they seem to be keen an painting just about anything stems, posts, carbon rims.....

JP Weigle paints the stems and the center part of the bars silver on his bikes.
