Has anybody ever had thier heels hit on a straight chain stay? Especially those of us with heel in "duck feet" ?

not with every stroke, but because my pedals have substantial float my heel will wander over sometimes and graze the stay.

On a Marcelo I owned years ago. I had to apply plastic chainstay protectors, as I wore away paint on both stays. Nothing odd about my cleat position, but those stays were bigger than my thighs.

Everytime I get new shoes or replace cleats, I have to go through the process of setting up the cleats where my heels just barely pass the chainstay. I feel your pain.

I was worried about this being a problem with my Love #3, which has the fattest chainstays I've ever seen. I'd say it knock into one about once every two hours. At 90 RPM, that's 1 out of 10,800, or less than 1/100th of a percent of the time.

I'm living with it...

But it has straight stays. I already tear up the sides of cranks. I especially start wearing out parts when I get fatigued, and would hate to punish a set of chainstays. Thanks.
