I have started putting together calendars to give out as gifts at Christmas, but since I can't give them to everyone on the Forum, at least I wanted to share the photos that I've been able to get in the past few years while riding or watching that make me love cycling . . .

I hope they will help you love cycling more, too . . .

For January, this is a mountain bike race in Schenectady's Central Park in 2005 . . . Nikon D-100, 12-24 zoom.

Nice pic Dave (January). That could be my back yard today, except that we have a little more snow.

Snow: looks nice, but is a PITA (but better than freezing rain).

Did you ride the queen bee up the bridge supports for the shot?

A Serotta can handle a descent like this!

Great picture!!

Great picture!!

The bridge is brand new and there's an observatory on top of one of the two towers. $5.00 to go up there and worth every penny. Absolutely fabulous view!

You can read about it here:

But I'm a little behind on posting stuff there. Too many pics to edit, not enough time!

I also have some stuff up at Printroom.com . . .

Nice work thanks for sharing. That gives me a goal for next year. That shot on the MS ride is just breathtaking. You give me yet something more to aspire to. I have that same L4. I like pulling it out of my jersey taking those snap and pray shots.

Dave, you should think about making into a calendar and selling.....

You have a wonderful eye for the human nature of it. Outstanding pictures..

I will take on of the calendars if you decide to do them,

Nice pics -- the bridge shot especially is terrific, the shadow pic made me smile, and the Saratoga/MS bike tour shot made me homesick for upstate New York.

Agree on all the compliments - August is super pro - should be entered in those VeloNews photo contests (unless you're giving up rights by doing so).

As for that December picture, I have thought occasionally that a YouTube focused only on the shadow racing you set to appropriate music and well edited would be absolutely killer. Being able to mount the camera for that shot would be a major technical achievement, as would finding the right road with the right sun angle at the right time of year. Might have to edit out the camera shadow in painstaking post production. Technique aficionados would love it and people who just liked cycling would love it.

I'll buy a calendar if you put one together.

Probably not the highest quality but I think almost all of the online print companies offer one.

Snap fish does a $20 version and a $30 version.

Tell me how much and where to send the check.

Dude, you're good at that. Did you take a class or something?

I'm stealing that bridge photo for my screen saver at work.

Karen looked over my shoulder and said if you're publishing a calendar we'll buy two.

Wasn't really expecting people to want to buy these things. Let me check and see what's possible. I normally sell my stuff through printroom.com, but I'm not sure what kind of calendar options they have. The ones I made locally are at the local photo lab and time you figure the calendar cost, then envelopes and mailing, they wouldn't come out to be that cheap. I'll have to check with the folks at Printroom and see how they do it. Please stand by . . .

They're beautiful shots, especially the one at Penobscot Narrows. And your shots of Acadia are getting me excited for our pre-New Year's trip to Bar Harbor.

Great shots, especially July and August. I don't know if I would buy a calendar as I already have a bunch, and I just bought two for my wife yesterday, but I like the idea of stealing one for a desktop photo.

Very very nice shots Mr. 7k ! Looks like you live in some great cycling territory!! Thanks for posting the photos, they are inspiring.

BTW... I think your cyclo-computer must be off, surely you have ridden your bike more than seven kilometers this year :)

Another option would be to post hi-res images somewhere and let people make their own. It'd save you a lot of time and trouble and those who are truly interested could do it easily themselves through one of the online services.

Just a thought.

Oh, and by the way, great pictures!

Nice shots BBD!

My cousin sends out beautiful calendars every year throudh Snapfish.com, but I have not used them. I use Blurb.com to make photobooks, but they don't have calendars.

Thanks for the pix.
