1) Those bars are sick! Where can I get some?
2) I wonder how many bugs that guy swallowed during his cycling career?

A wonderful elegance to these pictures. It seems that there is just too much stuff on modern bikes compared with Alf's time. Our material are lighter and stronger, so the late 70's need for the drill has disipated. But his stance on the bkie looks almost perfect, re: seat, knee, ball of foot. The bike seems small, but he is always on the drops, time trialing. Very nice, Thanks, Jon

What about the pedals on those cranks? Early LOOK , plain platforms without clips or something else?

What about the pedals on those cranks? Early LOOK , plain platforms without clips or something else? They look like Cinelli M-71 ("widow-maker") pedals to me. They have a slot on the outside that must be pulled manually to release the cleat from the pedal. They were introduced in 1971.

Oh cool! Well, or umm,, dangerous. I blew the pic up to 400% and still couldn't make out what was goin' on. Interesting and kinda scary. Thanks for the info.
