View Full Version : Rapha L/XL Sizing
Well it's that time of the year and indulgent thoughts drift to treating oneself with some high-quality wool... I've been on the verge of pulling the trigger on some Rapha but, being always in-btwn sizes with all my clothing, I sent Rapha three emails inquiring about actual measurements but no luck...
If anyone wears a 1) Long Sleeve Jersey or 2) Lightweight Softshell in sizes L or XL, would you be so kind as to share the following measurements?
- armpit to armpit as the garment is laid flat
- how long is it (vertically), say, along the spine/back?
My chest is 41" (5'-10", 167lb give or take 5) and I know the website says size L... but as I've said, I'm problematic with the sizing.
Thanks in advance.
And Happy Holidays!

I'd be interested in this as well. I'm about the same dimensions and typically around a large in most euro stuff, but sometimes medium fits better.

ispy,
You should be fine with a Size Large. I just treated myself to some Rapha cycling gear, including a Size XL wool jersey. I am similar to you in height (5' 11"), but weigh 200 lbs. and wear size 44 suits. I think an XL jersey would be a little big for you.
You will love the wool jersey.
Enjoy.

My large, long sleeve jersey:
pit to pit = 20.5 inches
bottom of collar to bottom = 26.5 inches

I found my Rapha s/s jersey to fit very tight in the shoulders but bigger in the body. I usually take a large, but needed XL.

I have a 43 inch chest and tried Large, but more comfortable with XL. (about 5'9" and 175#). Usually L for shorts. Hope this helps. Enjoy.

Dunno my chest size, but I'm 6'0", 173lbs and I wear a large....XL would be WAY too big on me...even large has a bit of wiggle room.

Ispy,
I'm your size, almost exactly.
Medium short sleeve jerseys from Rapha are snug on me. Arm and leg warmers are snug but stretchy in s/m, so they work well for me.
The Medium softshell jacket was too small -- barely -- in the chest. I couldn't comfortably layer beneath it.
i tend to prefer snug fits for summer clothes and the ability to layer when colder, so your mileage may vary.
Cheers.

Thanks again to everyone for helping me out.
