What an effin perfect day in sunny Central FL. The first ever Orlando Cross was dominated by my teammates on Colavita FL. We scored wins or podiums in every category but one. My teammate JP who posts here as Dutri rode off the front of the combined junior/womens/Mens C race with another Junior teammate and never looked back. It was his first cross race ever. Way to GO JP!!! You earned it pal. Just learn how to take you hands off the bars when you solo across the line bro. The pics look better.
My race in C's was not as pretty. I got the wholeshot and hit the first barriers in second. I nailed the transition but when out way too fast. The legs came apart or didn't show up. On the second lap I hit the ground on a dismount when my cleat didn't relaease. On the fourth lap I gave my bike to a junior who is racing for us next year, his tire came off on the back side of the course. I jogged 3/4 mile with his heavey a$$ bike and got a spare bike from the pit. My day was done and I was just mailing it in at that point. The highlight of the day for me was the discussion with my sons about why I would give up my bike, and why I didn't quit. I was pretty depressed about the race until I realized how other people saw my actions. I got a very grateful email from the Junior who got my bike. He'll be with us next year.
