View Full Version : Paint and lugs

Jack Brunk
11-28-2007, 04:08 PM
I'm debating sending back my Zank for a repaint due to the hassle of cleaning in and around all of the lugs. White seems easy on a fillet brazed frame. Are darker colors easier to keep clean when lugs are involved? I like the white but it's a pain to keep clean.
Paint suggestions please.

Thanks

A clean bicycle looks better regardless of the color. As the owner, you'll still know it's covered in grime if it hasn't been detailed in quite a few rides.

I can't even get either my yellow or black dogs to clean my bikes. I have no shot with anybody else.

I'll find out how dirt looks on red lugs very soon. The track bike is going on the road next week.

Jack, I have the same problem with the white on my CSI. At some point SPOKES gets tired of looking at the ugliness and cleans it. I think the dark colors hide the grime but it is still there...... (and SPOKES tells me I do a poor job of cleaning it - but it can not be seen) ;)

The usefulness of the metaphor of consumption stems from the fact that we can all recognize ourselves (to some extent) as cyclists, and I would venture a guess that consuming (at least in some senses) is something we must do. What I am interested in determining is whether it is possible to ride in such a way that does not digest and destroy a bicycle, but that rather rosters interpretation of and further thinking through bicycles, that is, a riding that participates actively in and that also acknowledges our necessary participation as part of the bicycle itself. Perhaps, if we must ride, we need not succumb to institutions of riding (or institutional framesets)--which is to say that if we are what we ride, we are also how we ride, and both of these conditions call for thinking, for skeptical scrutiny of totalized systems of riding and the diligent acknowledgment of the nature of framesets.

Translation: Don't worry about dirt on the effin bike.

Sock puppet was outed and dismissed by the serotta forum members for truth, a forum action response committee (farc) fronted by stevep. The purpose of sock puppet was to boost Roman's image on the forum, at the expense of stevep.

In this case, Jack needs no sock puppet. just a q-tiap (questionable techniques in anal posturing).

... truly to enjoy bodily warmth, some small part of you must be cold, for there is no quality in this world that is not what it is merely by contrast. Nothing exists in itself.
