all the threads on the rear triangles
really got me thinking about my own
travel, touring, cross rig: the uniscasi--
why not have serotta make me a second rear end
so i can have the non-st triangle for loaded touring
and also get one made with the carbon/st rear end...??

or is that esoteric beyond belief??
...maybe i'll just go back to lurking...

I have $20 I'll send to the person that writes the best joke based on this thread title.

Jokes using creative use of apostrophes will be disqualified, like "Loyalty means never leaving your friend's behind."

I have a second rear end on my tandem, but she's not for sale and I don't think that's what you were talking about. You need to pay attention to the tubing sticker - find a bike that says "double butted" and you're all set.

The main cost of a frame is the rear end. When you consider it it makes sense. The front end is 3 simple tubes and simple machining and alignment. The rear end is 7 tubes and much more machining and alignment.

A good straight front end is simple and easy to make. It's the arse end that cost the real money.

So it should cost so little more to have two complete frames and you have two usable frames instead of these top/down/head tube combos lying around the basement.

you probably would have to buy 2 complete sets of couplers... that and the cost of the rear (as DK stated) probably make it better to have 2 complete bikes. It would be kind of neat...

please don't do this in titanium.
or at least don't stop there, and make it convertible from single to tandem as well...

Sure then hook two rear ends to them and then two kits and have fun.

So would this idea be

Four times better than half-a$$ed?

How about twice the money for half the fun?
