I've never been a fan of "pop" music. Country music is where it's at. Here ya go (Toby Keith) -

Roger that, Avalon is still never very far away from my turntable. I didn't realize Bryan Ferry was still recording, I'll have to check it out.

I don't know if Bryan Ferry is still recording. But he is still dressing well. There was a feature/interview with him in GQ a year or so ago.

This video was recorded 25 years ago or so.

10-4, I was referring to the comments to the video. There is a new release in 2007, it appears to be covers of Dylan material. It's titled "Dylanesque"

Their first five albums are shockingly innovative and so very, very good. Each one better than the last.

"Nightingale" and "Just Another High" still stop me dead.

Throw in side 1 of Avalon and the Jealous Guy single, and you've got a career, atmo.

Avalon is one of the best albums ever. Not a weak track on it.

If you like Avalon, check out Brian Ferry's CD "Taxi"

Don't forget the Brian Eno connection. His quote about Lou's first band (only a few thousand people actually bought The Velvet Underground and Nico, but every one of them was inspired to start their own band...) pretty much nails it.

My own favorite, which is really a Roxy album in everything but name, is BF's 1977 "In Your Mind." It's one of a handful of 70's pop albums that haven't gotten old for me. Guitar geek alert--Chris Spedding is on it.

My favorite Ferry solo album is The Bride Stripped Bare. Great cover/mash-up of "What Goes On" and "Beginning to See the Light", and a decent cover of "Take Me to the River", atmo. And Let's Stick Together has all those stripped-down versions of Roxy Music songs, so you can truly appreciate what those guys added to Ferry's songs.

...I probably haven't listened to those records in 20 years...
