Saratoga Springs, NY (AP)--Serotta World Champion Cycles today annouced the release of a radically new cycling multi-tool, designed in conjunction with Swiss Army Knife maker Wenger.
"We wanted to create a tool that continues Serotta's fine tradition of producing the finest in cycling products," said Serotta Business Manager James Morrison as he hefted the demonstration model of the three pound, 87 tool device. Using a specially designed BOB bicycle trailer, available as an accessory for the new tool, Morrison demonstrated how the "major tool," as it's informally called, can be taken on most rides, pulled behind any Serotta outfitted with the specially adapted trailer hitch.
"We're aware that the added weight of the tool and trailer does add considerably to the total load the cyclist has to carry," said Morrison. "But we have always been dedicated to helping Serotta owners achieve maximum fitness, and pulling almost 25 pounds of extra weight should do the trick."
A sampling of Serotta owners revealed widespread interest in the new product. Pete McKeon of Raleigh, NC, enthused, "This is great! There's plenty of room for several bottles of red in the trailer, even after you jam the tool in there!"
