I canít believe Iím really going to sell my Legend Ti.
But its time to move on and allow someone else to enjoy this classic.

This beauty was built in November of 2001. Ordered it soon after 9/11 hence the paint scheme.
I built it as a stock bike except for the top tube that I made 5mm longer.
Iím selling frame, 1-1/8Ē Ouzo Pro fork and King headset as shown.
Here are the numbers:
Serial number: CTI 593994
SZ: 59
ST: 59
SA: 73
TT: 58.5
HA: 73.5
CS: 41.5
BB: 7
SO: 85
HT: 20 (1- 1/8Ē) w 15mm head tube extension
Measurement from bottom of dropout to top of steering tube: 66cm

The bike has been used but not abused by an old one leg guy. Never raced or crashed. It does have a number of normal light paint blemishes that can be easily touched up. No dents of any kind. The fork has a few small patches that the clear coat has peeled off.

Price: $1200 plus shipping.

Iíll try to drop some pics here. Not always successful so letís see if it works.
I think I got one pic to load. I'll try again.

I just sold my 60cm Legend so a 59cm has little appeal to one who likes his bars/saddle even. Did you guys have any damage from the fires?

No damage, Ken. As Michelle said, "we just can't catch a break". (-;
We couldn't sell the house so we thought if we could just get lucky........
We were evacuated to Camp Pendleton. Got to eat in the mess hall for free. Man, those marines and navy guys sure know how to eat.
Was the smoke heavy over in your neck of the woods?
They cancelled the Challenged Athlete Tri that was scheduled for 10/28 because of air quality on the coast.

smoke wasn't as bad as in some previous fires. I never had many gripes about Army food--especially mess hall breakfasts!

I didn't know you were trying to sell your home. Where to next?

We really like the western sloop of the Colorado Rockies. A little pricey. But the area is real nice. Lotsa outdoor activities. And some major hills to ride over.
Durango is our favorite candidate right now. A little cold for us but we may like to take up snowshoeing and cross country skiing. And we do have the motorhome to bail out during the coldest of months.
Dan

BTW
I was expecting to have the Legend sold by now. The price is 2/3 off what I paid for it new. What was your experience?

Tough time of the year. Terrific looking bike though.

BTW, it is my size!

Hmm. I thought you required a taller front end, Dave
You must have something you want to trade.
Living down here we forget there is snow and cold in other parts of the country. Nice ride through North County this morning.
I went with the Club. Michelle elected to hit the hills by herself. She did 61 mile and 5000+ feet of climbing through the burnt out areas of Falbrook and sorrounding areas. Pure climbing animal.

Wow! that is a beautiful Legend, perhaps the best color scheme I have seen. Someone should grab this, if it fits. I would, if I did not have my Merlin Spectrum.

C'mon now. Don't be shy. (Shameless bump)
A 2000 Legend Ti went for $1300 last night on Ebay. Not half as pretty as this one.
Here is you chance to own the finest Ti bike in the world at 33% of what it cost new. 50% of new is considered a fair price.

Somebody better grab this baby before I do! Like I need another bike, but just love the paint scheme. AND just my size, as Dave T would say.

Hey Skip.
I think All American Dave really needs a red, white and blue Legend. He could put the Marine logo on it. And hmmm, it is just his size

Hi gang.
No sale! Hard to believe. Even for this time of year.
This forum is a great place to determine price/value of bikes and equipment. If something doesn't sell its no doubt priced too high based on the combined wisdom of a lot of knowledgeable cyclists. We have sold a number of framesets and complete bikes here because we price aggressively for a quick sale. (Can't get a forumite to pay even $100 more than the low side of market value.)
Kinda disappointing to see $1200 is too high for a Legend Ti that costs $3600 just 6 years ago. Does this say that full ti bikes are now a thing of the past?
I guess I'll build it back up and ride it through the winter. Try again in the Spring.
Thanks.

I think custom bikes are harder to sell than production bikes and recently looks like a custom or high end frame doesn't have as good a resell value as some production bikes

EXA:

Look 585's new 2699.00 Used - average price 1,500.00.

Ottrott ST 2005 - Recent ebay sell 976.00 That person got a screaming deal.

Of course condition of bike, paint scheme etc comes into play. Sometimes as a seller you've got to just get lucky and find the right buyer.

I sold a 2002 Seven Axiom custom frame last year for 1200.00.

Right buyer,right time.
