Has anyone used the removable MTB front and rear mud guard/fenders? I am thinking of getting a pair to reduce mud on those wet days. Are they easy to install and remove as they are advertised?

I've used them for years. Easy on, easy off.

Depends on which you get how easy they are...

Which ones were you considering?

Which ones are good from your experience?

I was thinking of the SKS seatpost mount and SKS Shock Board. There are also ones from Headland as well.

I know a couple people who really like the SKS SKS Shockboard front and Extra Dry rear fenders for winter use. They use them for commuting and light trail riding.

I think mine are the shockboards mentioned above. Once the slide on bracket is mounted on the front shock, the front fender takes about a second to slide on or off. The rear fender that fits with a quick release on the seatpost may take 5 times as long (five seconds?) to put on, no longer to remove.

Only problem with the seat post mounted fender is occasionally it adjusts down towards the tire and rubs when the shock compresses. Oh, and if you forget and kick it while mounting or dismounting, you may knock it to the side. Neither issue is of any consequence. Not perfect, but better than nothing for sure!

Thanks. Sounds like the SKS has decent track record and is easy to use.
