I saw these driving through Pennsylvania last week. I'm not sure I want to eat at a place called Sheetz.
I wonder how they came up with the name?

Sheetz ... maybe they could join forces with Mobile "on the run."

In NW Pennsylvania, some of your finer gas station hoagies are to be found at Sheetz.

Big schism in the sheetz and giggles family.

Despite the inconvenient truth of so much convenience, Sheetz doesn't suck. In this part of the state, we have WAWA convenience stores, which are awesome. Great hoagies and waaay better than typical assortment of other food and stuff. One of the things my daughter missed most when she left for college (I would NOT kid you about this!). And Sheetz is in the rest of the state. I've stopped at 'em on a number of road trips and you can get a decent hoagie and other stuff there. Far better than the other options on the highway. And if you gotta be pumping gas anyway....

When I was driving my rig back from Chicago, I was cruising down 80 through PA and was getting low on gas. I was getting a little ancy to pull off when I came up on a sign saying there was "Sheetz" ahead........ I decided to keep going until the next station came along. I kept saying to myself; "Who would name their place Sheetz, what kind of place is a Sheetz? Will I get the Sheetz if I stop there..." (Nothing like talking to yourself on a solo road trip). Maybe I missed something?

Well....they seem to be doing better than a (and I can't make this up) failed resturant close the the Bay Bridge "Dezees". Ouch.

+1 for Sheetz. That's a reliable pit stop after racing at Trexlertown...woo hoo am not sure I can get with the enabling aspect...I mean COME ON get the f' out of your car at least to order that 30" long double bacon extra mayo lardo sub with extra peppers right?

Going down the road of bad names. I once encountered a liquor store in Massachusetts with the auspicious name of "Bunghole Liquors". Not good.

Wasn't that the business that operated from Barney Frank's basement?

Oh. MTO's at the Sheetz have fueled me for more than one race. The MTOs are pretty good as far as gas station subs go. In fact, I think they're on par (or better) than generic sub places like Subway.
