I was looking at the results of the Alpe TT this morning and noticed the following:
1.) Floyd Landis +3:35 behind Lance
2.) Axel Merckx + 3:40
3.) Levi Leipheimer + 4:06
4.) Reborto Heras +5:36
What's up with that? two of the original "Challangers" for the GC, who are climbing experts......losing time to Floyd Landis and Axel Merckx?
My guess is Heras wasn't ready for the tour and the previous days effort by Levi killed his legs........or they were both saving themselves for today's killer stage.
I was surprised by the above.
You can't hide in the mountains.
