I bid on an eBay CSi (yellow) with F1 fork, mis-described as a "CS1" and won: $399, plus shipping. It is scheduled to arrive today. Should be a good day.:)

Couldn't be much better than the day that you won the CSI for $399. Enjoy it. How about a couple of photos?

That was a fairly small one, yes? Maybe a 52, if it's the one I remember... You got a bargain!

Well, he said it was a 51cm TT. From the pics:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270178886448&sspagename=ADME:X:RTQ:US:11
and other small CSi's in the Image Gallery, as well as a '99 geo chart, I surmised he might have mis-measured. The HT length looked like the length of the HT on my 52.5cm Atlanta. I figured it was worth a shot, if it is really too small, I think/hope Ginger wants a fixie/SS. :)

Wow, I've only taken 2 rides on it, but it is the best steel Serotta I have ridden (even if it is too small). This beats my previously owned Fierte, CDA, Atlanta and Rapid Tour by a WIDE margin. I never wanted to take the others on a fast group ride, but this I would take in a heartbeat. The ride is sublime. The F1 is perfect. What a deal.

Thanks, it was a leap with the minimal info from the seller, but worth the risk.

Soon...soon, I need to make sure it is aethestically proper before a picture can be posted...still tweaking cages, tape, stem and seatpost...

Here's a pic, sorta threw the bike together with parts from the garage without regard to making a visual statement, just to get it going before the snow hits. Silver stem and white tape are probably the next moves:

Looks great!

BTW, you can see how different lighting and cameras can make when viewing pictures on the computer screen. Compare the picture you took to the one that was posted on the eBay auction...the color looks completely different.

So is it more of a bright yellow in real life?

To me, it is more mustard yellow than bright yellow. When I took the pic it was overcast, drizzling and grey out.
The bike is a 2000 model and the spec sheet says the color is "Team Lotus Yellow".

I had been riding it with Veloflex Pave's. Today, I threw some wheels with $12 Nashbar, 25c, Mich Speediums, on the bike. The tires were pumped up to 70psi. I did a mixed road and dirt trails ride--still a great bike. I HAVE to find a CSi that is more my size...

So what size CSi would you like to find? I'll certainly keep my eye open for you. BTW, from the looks of your setup, you should be able to make do with this one for now.

Thanks for the offer!

~53cm TT, with a 73.5 deg sta works best for me. This is a 51cm tt with a 74.5 deg sta, so with my seat slammed back the tt is ~52cm. The stem in the pic is a 11cm, 75 deg. I have a 12cm, 90 deg, on it now, but I think I need the 115cm TTT Motus I bought on Friday, 'cuz the 12cm is raised a little higher than I'd like, but below the max extension line. The bike does ride great.

FWIW, it looks maybe a bit smallish but not too small if that set up is good for you. Certainly mainstream for this crowd... Nice bike :)

I agree. For $399 and $50 shipping, I have NO complaints. If it was custom ordered and I paid retail, that's another story.

Yeah...i was telling someone the other day. I was looking at daughter's 5th grade yearbook the other day...someone wrote...it's better to look good than to feel good. Not sure how he came up with that...but believe he was right. I believe it is not justa bout your measurements...which are important...i believe it also about how you want to look on the bike.

Actually I was being ironical. I only get real picky how a bike looks if it is a new custom bike I ordered and designed the color scheme. If it was used and cheap, like this one, then the ride is what I care about and I don't put too much energy into the looks. If it's a keeper then I will change the tape to white, cagesmaybe to yellow and stem and crank to silver.

Looks great for something "just thrown together".

Thanks, in person it really does very little for me as far as its looks. After owning a CDA, Atlanta, Ebisu, Fierte, Rapid Tour (too big for me) and Bridgestone RB-2 (also a little big), I had almost given up on non-custom steel. But this CSi is outstanding. I'm only doing base miles and haven't pushed it really hard yet, but its gotta be a great bike to ride hard.
