so it's official, I'm sending in my money order today for a down payment on a hot tubes. This bike will be built around a wound-up carbon fork, honjo fenders and a campy triple drive train. I really really like those star reinforcements for water bottle braze-ons, and I've always been in love with bikes with inner cable routing.
What other specifics should I be asking for, and if some one tells me to go read BQ I will kill them (I've got a subscription + vol4 and what I missed of 5 on order).

well I'm going after more then just his paint jobs, my sister ex boy toy had one of his cross bikes and a tt bike. he was pretty happy with it. I've known a few other people with his cross bikes, I've never heard a complaint (unless you know something I don't and if so please PM me)

What sort of lighting system will you use? I have light mounts on a custom front rack, but I had the builder put some barrel braze-ons on the seatstays for mounting rear LED lights without having to use a clamp.

A pump peg is always nice, and sometimes overlooked...

Have fun!

Keven,
Mr. Coast never responded to my e-mails...

I think I'm going to be going with the standard (long) reach ultegras, so no canti mounts or hangers needed.

are there good frame pumps made now? my last expirence is pretty much with a silca, which sucked.

dauwhe,
I'm thinking of a hub light and then a velo orange rack. The braze on the rear for an led is a good idea.

a good idea to forward racks to builders so they can properly match mountings.

I like my Blackburn, but the Zefal HPX mentioned earlier is prettier. You can even get the Blackburn with a carbon fiber shaft. :p

Bruce Gordon makes a Ti frame pump, appropriate for the Serottaista.
You do have to source your own pump head.

Scroll down.

Beware the Zefal with ASV head, it gets bad marks.
I have Zefals and a Blackburn, the Blackburn is very
nice, I even managed to explode a tube with it, tough
trick with a frame pump.

I have a whole Zefal collection in my basement, and this pump is much, much better. Harder to beat chasing dogs and bears with it though:

That titanium pump from Bruce Gordon is sweet...it sure would look purdy on my titanium Spectrum frame... :)

I have most every sort of frame pump you can imagine, I mean I've got Zefals in every closet and bush, and my favorite is the Specialized Airtool. (Well, I don't have a ti pump, I'm a reasonable person.)

However, if you are into a minimalist look, a very simple nicely designed silver pump, which tucks in next to the bottle cage like a mini pump yet still really pumps air like a frame pump--check this one out. It's a big improvement over all my other pumps, which all rattle and are crappy, which is why they're in the bushes.

I've been using one for over a year, and couldn't be happier.

Do the one on the right, with some white accents. And silver Honjo fenders. Yum!

I love the Barbieri Carbone.. the thread makes me want to try the QuickerPro as well though..

Excel - Barbieri Carbone (http://www.excelsports.com/new.asp?page=8&description=CarbOne+Pump&vendorCode=BARBIERI&major=3&minor=9)

Note the reviews.. I have broken a valve stem once in the last 4 years.. luckily it did not strand me, I was just adding air so I had a spare tube. Just gotta be careful how you hold it. It works great though and weighs nothing.

I've heard a lot about how modern bikes and tomson seatpost and brooks saddles yadda yadda...

would it make sense to have a slacker seat tube to give more compliancy with a brooks?

Sorry for the slight thread drift, but what would forumites reccommend at the best frame-mounted pump ($300 titanium models notwithstanding)?
