I am in need of repairing a couple of tubulars with punctures but plenty of tread. One had about 200 miles on it.

What thread do people use for these repairs?

For future reference, at least some surgical silk is NOT appropriate . . . boy does a tire make a troubling sound as those seams rip . . .

Flydhest,

I use Velox tubular repair thread.
I've also heard of all sorts of other options, including
waxed dental floss, waxed thread for leather repair.
If you use a waxed thread make sure you don't get
thread that is too thin it will break under pressure.
One Classic Rendezvous poster uses Fly fishing line
Cortland "Fairplay" line backing, 20lb test.
Yellow Jersey http://www.yellowjersey.org/dir.html
has velox repair kits, glue, thread etc.

Flyguy, me gots. You can borrow and replace at your leisure.

Better yet, save yourself the hassle and send them to the "tire alert" folks.
