Let's toast to our host Ben Serotta
His bikes make me say "I just gotta
Get one for myself
'Cuz these ain't off the shelf
And I don't want just one, but a-lotta!"

Handmade titanium and steel,
Carbon fiber, each have their own feel.
Now each of those things
That come from the Springs
Is clearly unique and the real deal!

A warm open heart posts as "Sandy"
His Ottrott rides sweeter than candy.
He longs for improvement
In his cycling movement,
Knowing well it just makes Kevan randy!

When he wrote of his wife's awful fall
This forum was cast in a pall.
We hope your best friend
Is quick on the mend.
Gloria has the "Best Wishes" from us all!

A Cat2 builds in Chester Cee-Tee
Lugging steel as sublime as can he.
Spinning intervals relentless
At the finish he is spent less
To challenge for a 'Cross victory!

Made a bike for a jerk named Obtuse
Who for a week offered every excuse
For not posting a shot,
The forum was hot,
'Til, grumbling, he let those fine pics loose!

Surprise! That bike's red and white.
Built up, quite a beautiful sight.
The jerk comes off tough,
But sure knows his stuff -
Enough to keep that Sachs upright!

A favorite is DBRK
who writes in a lyrical way
On what he so likes
about each of his bikes
Which gives him a whole lot to say!

How 'bout 93LegendTi?
His bikes are all "just my (sigh)"
He said he would sell
By now he can tell
I'm just a poor "wanna-buy"

I looked for my name on the list;
it wasn't there. (Boy was I p*ssed.)
My Concours is ape
with gold handlebar tape.
The CSi will not be missed.

I've learned much about bikes on this forum
And met people who truly adore 'em
From customs to stocks
(Wait 6 years for a Sachs!)
Some have too many to know where to store 'em

Toast red for Serotta Pete
A Legend rider I'd like to meet
Big part of this scene
Who keeps it all clean
Thanks to him this place can't be beat!

There is a young lady from Big D
Whose Terraplane fits to a T
She won a cross bike
Wasn't sure she would like
But the saddle fit perfect, so WOW-EE!

Ginger is now her screen name
In the past, it wasn't the same
"I've too many posts,
They'll haunt me like ghosts
But I'll ride just to ride, that's my game!"

A Ph.D. in LA quit Cat 3
"Too much and too deep.", but we'll see.
If he races again,
Its not if, but when.
Face it, Swoop, its just meant to be!

A messenger named Fixed is our bro
His work keeps him all on the go
His posts have a beat
That make them a treat
But punctuation is often a no show!

Does he secretly ride a mixte?

The bike was all red
Twas all campy he said.
But up hills he was slow like a bucket.

But While On A Long Ride

Which Was Actually Inside

When cylcists were bold,
and builders weren't particular,
They lined the frames,
against the wall,
and brazed them perpendicular.

Stevep lives on Boston's north shore
And is steeped in all cycling lore.
He's livin' the dream
When coaching his team;
He loves bicycling through to his core!

Stevep finally got his new Zank,
And the picture shows its first rank.
His Sox are on top,
Those Pats will not stop,
So next weekend the Colts' gotta crank!

I'll tell you though, don't make a bet
With Stevep, you'll wind up all wet.
Though only a buck,
I'm down on my luck,
And his threats to collect make me sweat!

I compose these "Just Riding Along"
Its kinda like singin' a song
While spinning the bike
I think "Well now, Mike
Times like these, things don't seem so wrong!"

e-RICHIE posed this thoughtful jewel:
"Do you think of your bike as a tool?"
He rides mud and rain,
While pushing the pain
In his heart he knows ""Cross effin' rules!"

Through woods, across wide open space,
Leeping barriers is part of the race.
His ticket to contentness
Is riding so relentless,
Cuz you lose if you don't finish first place!

e-RICHIE didn't want to pay an exorbitant price for a hotel room in Southampton, so he decided to sleep in the team car, and to make room, he left the bikes outside on the pavement overnight.

There was a 'cross sponsor relentless,
Who camped in his car (he was tentless),
Throwing bikes on the ground --
Yet the next day he found,
That despite this abuse, they were dentless.

Fixed is our bro.
Obtuse, an ex-pro. Riding Kermesses in Belgium.
Swoop is a shrink who now rides for "fun"... at least he'd like to think.
Sandy is unsure, "what do I do", when this or that.
SteveP has a bald spot, that you guys can't see... thats why he wears a hat.
Zanc builds frames, he also races cross in the New England scene. His club has white uniforms... must be hard to keep clean.
Dr. Doofus or whatever he now is, claims as a racer he is a hack. But I do know from personal experience, he is in fact a hypocondriac.
ATMO, E-Richie posts all day and all night. It's been said that's why there is less red and white. But little do people know he types with his left hand while brazing frames with his right.
Then there's Ginger. Tactfully she quips. Ginger also claims I have "pretty lips".
Shino is the master of art and decor. He may act like a juvenile but he is never a bore.
And Fstrthnu. I have to write about me or this lymeric would not be complete. Much like Jerry Seinfeld I am also skinny and neat.

There once was a steed made of steel
Lugs tied the pipes to heel
The owner gave it hugs
His toothy smile had bugs
Shame the rust made the paint start to peel

---

There’s this nutty guy named Bumble Bee Dave
It’s loud fashion to which he is slave
White and black strips call our attention
To a bike of equal passion
But must we be subjected to his rave?!

---

There’s this guy from the Washington District
Who owns things most fantastic…
He possesses almost all
And what he has, he has a ball
But he’ll never get Kevan to do that trick

---

There are bikes like Serottas, Vanillas and Zanks
There builders like Sachs and Kirk, we give thanks
Their craftsmanship is keen
Those bikes need to be seen
Maybe someday I’ll enjoy one with my own shanks

An Ode to Bumble Bee (starved for attention) Dave

On a Serotta he rode
from his humble abode
just 25 short miles from the factory.

Please remove your striped garb
cried a woman named Barb
as your ripeness offends my olfactory.

Colnago's, De Rosa's
Spectrums and Sachs...

All these fine bikes and
I still rode like a hack...

Life through me a curve
and I damaged a nerve...

Now this Old Dog
spends more time on his Hog..

I forget not,the joy it is to pedal,
a fine lugged bicycle made out of metal...

The winter it comes and inside I'll spin,
imagining that town line sprint, I will win...

My wife she reads this, and calls me a fool,
Wake up, your dreaming, your pillow is covered in drool...

The Sachs, the Spectrum, even the Hog,
There will alway's be something,
between the legs of this Old Dog.

Its done for a smile,
Not in AP style,
I won't mention your kit, its just okay!

Your posts show you are a fine fellow,
If "cool kids" once you did bellow.
But I won't go there,
It wouldn't be fair,
I'd just wind up harshing your mellow!

You call it a gift, well I curse
When my thoughts come in this style of verse.
