Been raining for 3 days here. OK, we have a drought situation to overcome, but geez! Wish we could send a little of this out west! Ironic to be sitting here getting drenched watching the fire updates from where they would love to have any moisture at all.

Not a cloud in the sky just 90 minutes away.

Hot and humid down here. 81* at six am, good chance of thunderstorms later in the afternoon.

Two places to cheer for the weather, Boston for the game and So. Cal. even more for rain.

riding temp for an hour or so into work was a pleasant 37 degrees.
(wind chill ~ 30)
i spotted several deer, a heron and numerous
relatively lively squirrels.
...only passed by a couple cars
with plenty of clearance.
socks, booties and road shoes
resulted in cold feet at the end of an hour.
...i guess it's time to break out the shoe covers...

If you all could send some of your excess moisture to San Diego we'd be grateful. :)

52 degrees and light rain at 0540 start, 48 degrees and light rain at 0750 finish.

After the 65 degree weather I got used to, it felt cold. I'm going to have to toughen up some because it is unlikely to be much warmer for a few months. When I got home I couldn't feel my hands or feet.

The big problem is that after a warm shower, a few slices of toasted paving stone* and arriving at my warm office I really want to sleep. I almost nodded off in staff meeting.

* Proof your yeast. I tried to make a loaf of anadama bread this weekend and it simply didn't rise at all. I baked it anyway. It is exactly the color, shape and density of a paving stone. It's good toasted, though.

I took my soaking yesterday. 40 minutes riding home from work on the new Mariposa. I had wanted to check out how well the fenders functioned but not in a total deluge.

Decided to ride the effin cross bike today. 48 degrees, gray and damp with a chilly breeze. I broke out the winter shoes for the first time. Got in some great dirt road miles. Funny thing is, I went out at lunchtime, rode for exactly 70 minutes and I still suck. Wasn't that supposed to be the magic formula? :p

Thunderstorms this morning. No ride under lightning, house rules  . Not looking forward to trainer session tonight.

50s, cloudy, spitting, windy, colorful, hilly for Michigan ride with a friend. Neither one of us would have went out if it weren't for calling the other one to see if they were riding.
It's like that.

Fall has not been very nice overall in the PNW. Saturday's group ride was 2 1/2 hours, 1/2" of rain, SW winds at 10-15.

In stark contrast, yesterday was sunny, 71 degrees. RODE IN SHORTS!

Commuting home today, 24 hours later, it's 54 degrees, wind from the North at 10 with gusts, and raining pretty good. Living here is always wierd...and has been for the nearly 49 years that I have.

my ride was pretty lame. i went out thinking it was going to downpour.

i rode 15 miles and felt a bit of drizzle so i bailed. the sun came out later on and it never ended up raining. what a total waste!@
