Is it possible for a kneecap to get snapped in half or shoot right out of the knee from forces generated?

For those of you who haven't been to this course...this is a Steep run up, hurts like heck to shuffle up the thing while trying to look like you are running. I can't imagine the wattage required to ride the thing.

Is that the steep little hill coming out of the lower portion of the course up to the main road/driveway, where the riders then hang a left and (most of 'em) remount? If so, I got just two words for that - holy *****!!!! It's frickin' vertical. I've never seen anyone ride it on a mountain bike.
