that first bike is set up as a ss
...disc brakes fore and aft...
probably a good idea for an off-road/cross bike.
riding off-road fixed is a hoot, however, imho!
obtw,
i do like the bars.
it'd be fun to take that bad boy out for a spin!

Those bars look an awful lot like WTB dirt drops. I have an old pair, but they have started making them again. But the new ones appear to have an ergonic bend, (yuck).

They may be dirt drops, but I have a set of bars on my commuter bike sitting here in my office that are shaped identical to those in the picture. Mine are some japanese brand from years ago. The ones in the picture are rotated way up, so that the bar ends are almost at a 45 degree angle to horizontal

I dig the flared drops. I have some Salsa moto-ace flared drops on my commutocross, but they're not nearly that flared.
