Last week I got 17th in my race, and then again yesterday! Last year I would have been 17th twice, but they changed one of my results to 18th for some reason. I have never done better than 17th! :(
The good news is that I was sick two weeks ago and didn't ride except for my race on Sunday. Last week I couldn't ride because my old man was in town and he is too soft to ride in the rain. The only riding I've done in the past two weeks is in two races! It's a pretty good result for me as I've never placed that well consecutively (cross is harder than it looks when you don't have any talent). I want to do better than 17th. Any advice lil' penguin?

He did. The race started with 217 riders. By the time his knife got too dull to cut, there were only 17 riders left.

Unfortunately Shino is not a man with a great deal of luck. They all landed with the point facing down. Get the point??

This brings up my next question. How do "the delights of a female" affect race results the next day?
Is it best to make like a 50's French tour rider and not shave or see a loved one?

This really happened at the Putnam county RR back in August. Some local didn't like cyclists.

No! I _would_not!

Maybe I should ride every lap the way I ride the last lap!!??

I always have a bad first two laps.

Then I have a good last two or three laps. I guess I need to warm up better?

no way, those ancient old school steel monstrosities are way too heavy. you should put some carbon deep dish wheels on that fuji. you'd certainly move up to top 10.
