have you ever seem a titanium frame entirely painted EXCEPT panels (down tube, seat tube and/or top tube) left as bare titanium? would that be cool or not?

I am sure it has been done. Just keep in mind that once a tube is painted it usually can not be "unpainted" and left el natural.....

I have seen Ti half and 3/4 painted (see under paint schemes)

Good luck in your selection

That could be a great paint scheme. Back in the 70's one of the first Japanese bikes to be imported was the Fuji Newest. It was a bike that was all chromed, and then painted, with the panels and stays left unpainted. Those were pretty bikes, especially in blue. If you search around on the web, you might be able to find a picture.

IF offers it as a custom option, they call it "naked panels". The only negative I see is that you'll still have surface mounted decals which aren't as durable as clearcoated ones.

Seven calls their scheme "contradiction":

I don't like the look, personally...

Just a note. We refinish a number of Ti frames that were painted with partially or completely unpainted finishes. It is really no big deal. Methyline Chloride does an amazing job in getting rid of any pesky bits of paint (skin too).

I think it would look very cool fully painted with a matte or polished panel with contrasting matte/polished logo. Sort of like a non-decal decal...I've seen this done on bikes without paint, might look pretty good with the right color choices to offset the Ti.

Hey, you just gave me an idea...

Dont say that to JB. My 3/4-1/4 Hors Cat came back 1/2-1/2.

Just sayin'
