Does anyone know the history of the titanium tubing designations at Serotta?

My 3 year old Legend has C4Ti tubing.

I have a slightly older Hors Cat that has C5Ti tubing.

I see the current Legends come with C3 or C4.

What happened to C5? Are they counting "up" with time and higher grade materials or "down"? Inquiring minds want to know!

but have no info. Would like to know the answers too.

A query worthy of a bump.

Maybe the curved seatstays give it the "C5" designation?

Don't know for sure, but that would be my guess.

I think the number after the C represents the number of tubes in the frame that are Colorado Concept, ie tose with the most sophisticated manipulation that Serotta does. If a frame has carbon stays it would have a lower "C" number than the same frame with ti stays.

The C5 was indeed specific to the Hors and denoted the curved stays.

C4Ti = Triple Butted
C3Ti = Butted
