Any resonably priced favorites as tested by the masses here?

One of the bike clubs I belong to, Oxon Hill Bicycle and Trail Club, gives Louis Garneau wind vests (I think it's the Atmos model) to ride leaders after they lead a certain number of rides. It's quite nice, works very well, and I'd happily buy one if I hadn't been given it. Only thing that's hard to get used to is the zippers are "women's style" backwards.

The ultra light Pearl vests are excellent. They compress to the size of a lemon and are very windproof. I forget the name of the model and fabric, but it's usually white or red and goes for around $50. I've been using one since the spring and think it's the best vest I've owned.

My PI vest works well. (not sure of the model, it's about 6-7 years old) Some wind proof stuff in front and mesh in back. If folds down to a very small size but in my case that would be a fairly large lemon. My only issue is that it's not at tight-fitting as I would like so if flaps around a bit.

PI's vest is their best garment. LG makes a very similar product. In a vest I always look for a full mesh back. Anything without the mesh and I steam up.

My trusty Pearl Izumi Barrier vest in bright yellow is a fine accessory. I also own the thinner Optik vest. It is a great garment to have along when it's chilly during the on-the-way-to-the-meeting-spot portion of the ride and can be easily stowed later.

Easy access in 3-rear mesh pockets. I'm still in one that is probably 7 years old.

Another vote for the Pearl Izumi Zephyr vest.

The one that fits and doesn't flap around annoyingly.

+1

I finally found a Sugoi last year that is the bee's knees.

Just ordered a Voler thermal vest because the wind vests really don't do a darn thing!

Also, this vest is going to have pockets.

Yes, it's the Optik and it's a gem! I have several older Zephyr's and the Optik material makes it half the size when balled up -- a lemon is about right.

The Boure vests are nice and have a full mesh back w/ 3 pockets.

These are good also. 2 buddies riding them currently, no complaints.
