Is there a beer tent?

Bruce K
10-11-2007, 08:12 PM
Not sure.

There is an ECV hospitality tent for members and sponsors.

Unfortunately, I will be neither racing, crewing, or even there this weekend as family obligations are taking me out of town.

There are about 1000 racers between Saturday and Sunday and several fields are maxed out at 125 riders.

I am going to try and ride up to the course (2 miles from home) late tomorrow and give it a preview lap or 2 just so I'll know what I'm missing.

Good luck to e-richie, 92degrees, zanc, Mrs. zanc, and any other forumite racing this weekend

To put this back on track...

Yes Darren, it is both days with racing starting at 9:00 and going until around 4:00.

It is an amazing cross course and you can see about 75% of it from the better spectating areas. A beautiful venue with pavement, grass, dirt, a sand pit, and traditionally some pretty knarly off-camber and down-hill/up-hill hairpins.

Shino, you are welcome here any time (we live 2 miles from the course), even if we have a house full of Velo Bellas (we are hosting only 1 this year and only due to emeregency).

RM, I am bummed that I will be missing out on such amazing looking eats.

Reins is waaaay overrated.

When I see the Vernon exit, I know I'll be eating good deli. In another two hours.

Last time we drove by, my wife and I then had to explain to our daughter that there's also no good deli in Boston. Zaftig's is is like Denny's idea of deli...

Back on topic - I gotta figure out how to wangle a pass to get up to Gloucester...

RM;

We are around tonight and then out tomorrow morning about the time of the first race and back in the evening. Same on Sunday.

Jesse is trying to book some flight time and that may affect our departure so there is now a slight chance I might get to see 1 race in the morning(s).

Hopefully, I will have an opportunity to ride over and take in some of the show, but weekends are tough and my boss can be a **** If not, perhaps I might meet a few hungry cabal-leros at the end of the day: no deli, but when in Rome ...
