I've got a C40 (28 seatpost). I went to install a new braided carbon railed Aliante and found there wasn't room for the post clamp under the saddle (the Fizik literature warns that this might be a problem with some posts). Three questions:

1. Has anyone tried a shim in their Nago carbon frame?

2. If I did, and went with a Campy post, do I need to replace the Colnago seat collar with Campy (and will it fit?)

3. Any other 28 carbon posts out there?

Thanks in advance!

shim works just as good as 28 post. Seat collar is a seat collar so your good to go! Thompson makes all sizes.

See.......no worries

+1; used a shim for years on my C40 as the Colnago post was a real pain to adjust.

I've got a shim on my C50 and it works great. I was just going to use it temporarily, but since I haven't toughed it all year, it's there to stay. Holds the post fine. No slipping.
