I love your friends interests:
"The Ancient Game of Go"Interesting point about Go: In China, Go was perceived as the popular game of the aristocracy while Xiangqi (Chinese chess) was the game of the masses. Go was considered one of the four cultivated arts of the Chinese scholar gentleman, along with calligraphy, painting and playing the guqin.

This only reaffirms the elevated nature of his soul.

And of course, we refer to Your_Friend as he, but only in the general humanistic sense.

Just as we refer to a ship as "she".

Part of not think the other day was musing over how easy or difficult it must be to write in the same style all the time, specifically thinking about Your_Friend's posting style. I wonder how much of that is because of the font and the exclamation points. Brand differentiation and all that, no regard to content. It'd be an interesting exercise if one were trying to develop the skill to be a writer. Pick a style and always post in it. It'd be kind of like playing scales.

It is odd what wanders across the brain pan when it starts getting vacant.

Friend makes me laugh every time I read the "_Magical Posts_" but when it's late at night and dark I wonder what does Your_Friend think of bikes that plane and why is a penguin the avatar of choice.

With all due respect that is due,

Erik

Try This!

Ride Your Bicycle

_Very_ Fast!

And Find A Little Hill!

In The Key Of _E_

Hum A _G_ Or A _G#_!

When You _Hit_ The Hill

Maintain Your Gear!

And Your Cadence!

If At This Moment,

You Find The _Blue Note_

Then You Are Planing!

Love,
Your_Friend!

Please, someone, take away Mr. Friend's shift key.

All of those unnecessary exclamation points and capital letters are killing me.

It's like listening to Borat.

I think every forumite (without revealing who has done what) should create an alter-ego. For example, one person might choose to only write in haiku. Another might only post on threads related to tubulars, and yet a third post on every other Thursday that if you do not use friction shifters you are not really a cyclist.

It might confuse the newbies and get old after a while, but it would be amusing trying to figure out who is whom.
