Can anyone tell me when and why head tube badges were used on the Legends, in lieu of decals? Thanks.

I have been collecting Serotta catalogs since 2002, the pictures of the Legend had head badges on it even on the '02 catalog... I also, did a search on the Net and pulled an old page of the Serotta home page URL for 2001. Here, the picture of the Legend also had a head tube badge.

I could not see further back than this.... As to why, I can not tell you. Perhaps a call, e-mail to the folks at the factory will help.

Cheers,

At the time I ordered my Legend (2003) the current head tube badge
looked very nice but when I checked it out close up, it had really sharp
edges that did not lay down flat. It seemed coarse to me.
I opted for the "S" decal on the head tube.
It's my understanding that many others did likewise around that time.
Does anyone know if they have improved the badge or it's application
since then?

I didn't put any thought into it.. and my Concours showed up with a badge this summer.

I can't see the badge/decal when I'm riding.. not much of a concern.
