Tomorrow is the official National Ask A Stupid Question Day, according to an AP wire report I just read.

Soooo . . . In honor of this upcoming auspicious day, what is the stupidest cycling related question you have EVER heard? (Besides THIS one, of course.)

Wouldn't it be easier just to drive?

All time stupidest not bike question came one afternoon when I was washing my car and had the wipers flipped outward to clean the windshield. One not so bright teenager looked and said with a straight face: "wow, are those some new kind of windshield washers."
I replied "yea, they catch the raindrops before they hit the windshield."
He looked a little puzzled then went on his way.

the stupidest cycling question can only be one that may include the chance for sudden death as an answer, such as the last rider in a gaggle of cyclists running a stop sign at a busy intersection during bike va. asking those that were stopped "is it clear?"

As I would tell my students, there's no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid people.

Kind of lame, but I get it all the time, especially from my neighbors. (I live out in the boonies and there is very little traffic out here.)

"How can you ride on the road with all those cars?"
