Where to buy? I am somewhat mountain bike naive..........I'm currently building up a sweet mountain bike for the better half. Scored a deal on craigslist with a brandnew Shimano XT 9-speed shift/brake combo for 90 bucks!. Anyone got any ideas where I can be looking for an XT build kit (sans the shifter/brakes of course) for decent prices? anyone? anyone?

Ebay is the place for the best deals if you know what you're doing. Since you're new to mountain biking the following mailorder/internet vendors are reliable:

jensonusa.com
pricepoint.com
greenfishsports.com
cambriabike.com
wheelworld.com
adrenalinebikes.com
blueskycycling.com
nashbar.com

Give them a call and see what is instock and on sale.
The season is ending and Shimano has introduced a new generation of XT and XTR components so you should be able to get a pretty good price on a build kit made up of last years components.

Check out the "Where are the best Deals" forum at http://forums.mtbr.com/
for the lattest discount coupons to save additional cash when you place the order. Good luck.
