I have an old but very functional Takagi Tourney triple crankset that I wanted to change the gearing on. It is a 130 BCD crank and the inner ring is 74mm BCD. The inner chainring bolts are 6mm diameter (instead of 8mm) with fine thread (0.75 just like standard chainring bolts) but near the head it is 8mm to fit snuggly through the hole in the chainring and then it has a small cap as chainring bolts do.

You can probably see this one coming, but when I went to take off the inner bolts, 2 (of 5) were so frozen that I ended up stripping them (the allen head, not the threads) :crap: :crap: Got them off ok, but now when my new smaller ring arrives I don't have enough bolts to do the job.

Any ideas? I may be able to order 6mm/0.75/10mm length bolts but they wont fill the 8mm hole in the chainring. Maybe thats ok if I have 3 good ones.

Perhaps someone has some laying around not doing anything :)
(yeah right)
Thanks,
tEd.

Call Yellow Jersey (the shop). He should be able to straighten you out.

Great advice. Indeed they seem to have the exact bolts that I need.
