Man, for other than cycling, I don't really stay outdoors too much. But I went to my backyard to check on things, and look what I say growing there!

The bike wheel is there for reference... This sucker of a leaf is a bit more than the length of my bike (a 52.5). I had to climb on a ladder to place the wheel on it!

Now I can finally believe in things like James and the Giant Peach... or The Little Shop of Horrors

Looks like the perfect food for a dinosaur. Got any of those hanging around your swamp?

PS - I think you can cut back on the Miracle Gro!

 For years I've been saying to racers who taco wheels "Hey, this shiet don't grow trees" Who knew I was wrong all these years! Do you have a Shimano tree too?

Jason,

Can you please teach this guy about his vegetables...

I don't want to start wearing tie-dyed t-shirts and dreads in my hair. :D :D

It appears that you have one of the varieties of Colocasia growing in your backyard. However, they also resemble the giant philodendron. Forgive me, but plant taxonomy isn't my strong suit. The first is edible (and was in fact imported as a food plant during slavery days), the second contains calcium oxylate in large quantities and is considerably poisonous. Both are often called "elephant's ear."

I think it's Colocasia, though. So eat it if you really trust me. :)

I had a large number of these on a farm my family used to own. They grew wild, mostly around stream banks. This was in Southwest Georgia. They're really neat plants, and as you've demonstrated, can have leaves that are roughly 3ft x 4ft in size.
