Integrated fork question

Can an integrated carbon fork ever be used with a conventional headset?

I have a Cannondale fork (actually a Time THC 45) with a Campy 1 1/8" integrated headset that I am selling (read giving away to a home that will use it.)

Can't a person put a different fork crown race on it and use it on a conventional setup. I'm guessing NOT, but I really don't know WHY?

Yes, a 1 1/8" integrated fork can be used with a standard (non-integrated) 1 1/8" headset, with the use of a standard headset crown race.

It just can look a bit funny.

More important, from the performance POV, is that the fork rake be compatible with the frame geometry.
