I know that there is cross compatibility between the different SRAM groups, and I know that rear shifting wise there is no cross over between SRAM and other makers (Campy, Shimano) but does anyone know if say a DA front derailleur will work with Force/Rival shifters?

Oddly enough, I was just building up a new to me IF last night (From Forum Member DarrenCT) and I was having some issues with the SRAM FD. The IF's Seat tube is 28.6 and the SRAM FD is 31.8. Even with shims I couldn't get a solid fit. So I used a DA 7800 FD with the SRAM brifters and it set up amazingly easily. I took it out for a quick shakedown spin and it seemed to work fine. That may change, I don't know, but as of know all is well - they play together nicely.

Now, anybody have any thoughts on how to eventually get the SRAM 31.8 working on a 28.6 tube?

Does SRAM have a braze-on FD in their lineup?

SRAM's 1 to 1 shifting is only in the rear. The front brifter is still just like shimano. It should be just fine.
