Anyone know where I can find myself a road bike to rent for about two weeks while I'm in the Los Angeles area? I have to travel to Santa Monica for business and since I don't own a bike box, I either have to forgo my favorite pastime or try and find a bike shop that might take pity on me. I know this is an unusual request and very few if any shops rent truly decent road bikes, but I figured someone on the forum might have some ideas or experience with this situation. I just can't imagine being bikeless all that time just as I'm finally getting into some kind of decent bike shape. Thanks.

Fina1 - You can call Raul at Beverly Hills Bike Shop (310) 275-2453 or Sam at Helen's Bicycles (310) 829-1836. They may be able to help you.

What size bike do you ride?

Fina1 - Wasn't it you who said in an earlier post that you have an old Panasonic you use for traveling? I'm probably wrong on that, or maybe you sold it. Best of luck!

Tom, Thanks so much for your reply. I will definitely give these people a call. I won't have access to email, but I will be checking in with these two shops. I'm 6' and typically ride a 55 or 56. Thanks again.

Its a brand new cdale optimo in a 58 with campy chorus. A few caveats you supply the tires and tubes - if you go down on the bike you replace it I am leaving for france today and will return the 28th, if that works for you send me a pm, I live in brentwood which is adjacent to sm. Unreal weather lately, enjoy socal!

6 ft and on a 55 or 56 cm?????????????? Dr. Brooks and I are amazed. Borrow that 58 and see how it feels--you might like it a lot.
