View Full Version : Panel Paint Jobs

Mike DeSalvo has finished my frame and in typical fashion, the hardest part is choosing the color. Been leaning toward a panel job but other than scouring the gallery here and RBR, where else can I check out some cool paint jobs?
Open to suggestions for colors/designs too. Would love harlequin(sp?), just not sure I want to incur the addtional cost.
Thanks in advance for your time.
Regards,
Jeff

Kirk, CoMotion, and Vanilla all have some nice shots in the galleries on their sites. Have fun and post some pics!

I do not have it anymore, but I hope it helps. His paint is done by and if you go to their website you can see what all they can do.

His work is fantastic, and a nice guy to boot.

I love panels - Great choice!
My (next) dream bike is Sky Blue with White panels. Imagine this with white panels & saddle, and a set of Pro Race 2s in the same baby blue:

I stumbled across it here (http://ifrider.com/register/crownjewel015.htm).
The last few times I've been at Wheelworks, they've had a IF Factory Lightweight set up almost exactly the way I described. It's a good thing it's too big for me - I might not have been able to resist it...

I am a sucker for a panel job. Red on black is classic, but this one is damn sexy also.

Gotcha, I have mine that I use to have on there. Buddy has a great minty fresh CJ with open letters in Black. I build all of his bikes and it by far is one of my favs.

Co-Motion has a nice photo gallery with all kinds of paint options including panels. It's a fun site to waste time on.

Thanks.

The DeRosa and the Indy Fab could make a grown man cry. Beautiful.

And the entire wheelset. A classic steel frame deserves a pair of classic handbuilt wheels.

...or at the very least some neutrons.
The G3 spoke pattern on a classic gives me shrinkage.

Dave Moulton seemed to have an artistic eye for colors on frames. His Fuso line had some appealing combinations and I've been dreaming of them for my next frame.

This last one, with the red/white/charcoal metallic, sticks in my head.

Here is a Tom Kellogg 30th anniversary frame that I really like. I am always drawn to the light blue paint with silver or white panels. I suppose it reminds me of the Raleigh Professional from the late 70s that I fell in love with but was too young to afford.
