Aug. 21: In Japan, Darren "Professor Splash" Taylor is about to break the world record for a high dive into shallow water. From 35 feet in the air he'll dive into 12 inches of water.

How on earth does that work???? Is 12" of water really enough to prevent completely mangling yourself on the ground?
