Colorado III Seat Post Diameter???

I thought that Serotta used 27.2mm diameter posts on all the steel bikes. However, when I went to fit a 27.2mm post into a Colorado III, it did not work. So I got out the calipers and found out the diameter was about 26.6mm, odd size. It is clearly not 26.8mm. Should I have it reamed/stretched out to 26.8? or I have a 26.0mm XTR post that I can use with shims. What do people know/think of this?

My C III used a 27.2... did someone crimp in the top of the tube in the past by using a smaller post? :no:

It is 27.2, Do not force it. Try another 27.2 or go to your dealer. If you bought used, ask the seller what he used. I do not recall anything but a 27.2 in any CIII> Call SEROTTA JAMES or send a note to him - if a dealer is not close to you (or a high end pro shop)
