here is myself and what i think is probably the best collection of cross riders ever in the same jersey.
l to r
josh thornton- fixeds buddy from fla, rode some cross in the day
bart wellens- 2 time elite mens world champion, 2 times u-23 world champion
tommy vanoppen- mens elite world silver medal, u-23 silver medalist 2 times
dave lipman- how'd he get in there?
tim johnson- worlds u-23 bronze medalist ans top us cross racer as well as road.

this was 1999. bart, tom and tim were the gold, silver and bronze medalists at the world championships that year in the u-23 race.

was cool to have these guys here for that summer. this photo was taken at the tour of ohio.

e-richie- eat yr heart out.
pardon the fuzzy photo. its a photo of a photo of a photo.

Is that a Serotta "S"?

Just wondering. Not that there's anything wrong with that. ;)

A teammate has tried to get me to talk to Simon. I have been tempted.

Thornton won the Jax NRC race I think.

he was/is a bull on the bike. had some great races with me and then life interfered a little. always able to pick and make the break... probably still.

there is so little money for these young guys that its tough to survive without some one's support.

europe is nothing but a big time pressure cooker for the kids who go there as juniors or u-23.
i think its not th thing to do.
its not what they expect. thats for sure.

there is a lot of pressure that cracks way more kids than it helps.
