View Full Version : Bending Cables Anchor Points

I always put a small bend in cables at their anchor points to help prevent slipping.

Looking at the pictures of pro bikes it seems that about half have the cable running straight through the anchor points with no bend. This looks much cleaner to my eye but it is hard to give up the perceived safety of a bend.

Anyone have thoughts on this?

Thanks,

Dewdness - a slip is as good as a mile. Seriously, bends will not help. I like the look of str. cable exit on brakes and rear mech.s. Front der. is optional in my opinion...if you can get away with not bending so much the better.

Thanks, O Tall One. I can always count on you to help me out with even the most esoteric question.
You are most likely right on the bend not helping...I'll bring myself to try it. It really does look so much better.
