does the guy ever climb in the saddle?
he seems to always be out of the saddle all the way up the big climbs.
it's one thing to be attacking out of the saddle.
or to be hustling along on a steeper section.
but this guy seems to prefer standing all the time.
this has to be less efficient, especially over a long climb, doesn't it?
so maybe it's just his preference, but i'd think at his level a coach would have had him train himself to sit so that he could actually be more efficient.
and the guy can fly, too. i just wonder if he'd be even faster if he spent more time in the saddle.

Richard Virenque had a similar out of the saddle climbing style and seemed to be pretty successful with it.

Maybe because he ws burying himself for someone else. If he could maintain the speed going uphill sitting, then he would have been even faster standing.

He was working at his limit.

Just opinion.
