The Serotta Forumites have added an honorary teammate for this year's Pan-Mass Challenge.

Her name is Daisy Locke and she is 13 years old. Daisy was diagnosed with cancer at age 1 and after surgeries, chemo, and radiation, she has been cancer free since she was 3 years old.

Daisy loves her bike and loves the riders in the PMC. Her dad, Pete is captain of Team Daisy and a good freind.

Daisy really liked getting her very own Forumites jersey and, as you can see by the photo, it fit !! (almost).

Wonderful picture and story. May she be blessed with a long and healthy life.

Can one buy any of those jerseys? They are really nice.

Sorry Sandy, not this year.

This version was done for our 14 team members, Daisy, and 1 or 2 Serotta employees who have helped us with the team.

Maybe next year we will do a version for sale as part of our fundraising.

With all of the BS going on in cycling it is always wonderful to see someone with so much spirit and character.

Thanks, I'm blushing... ;)

But seriously, I really wish you all could meet her. She is quite the special young lady.

Bruce, sorry I wasn't able to join you for the presentation, well done! It really hits home to learn the story of just one child who has suffered with this terrible disease. But to know she has pulled through is very encouraging and fuels the efforts of those that support fundraising to find cures for cancer.

A big thank you to all those who have made generous donations to the Serotta Forumites PMC Team, you are the ones that give people like Daisy hope for a future.

Thank you,

quattro

Looks like you dropped a few pounds there Bruce

See Sandy, first you kiss up, then you ask for the jersey :D

Good luck Bruce and team.

With all of the BS going on in cycling it is always wonderful to see someone with so much spirit and character.

The BS goes on in the pro ranks.

But cycling amongst us "regular people" is responsible for wonderful fundraising:

Team In Training
Pan-Mass Challenge
Rodman Ride for Kids
Harbor to the Bay

(and that's just a few things that go on in my little corner of Massachusetts).

Bart;

Don't forget:
Tour of the Vineyard
Great Mass Getaway
Best Buddies Ride
Ride with the Champions
Brain Tumor Society Ride for Research
Tour du Cure

It just goes on and on...
