anyone have any info in this AL frame? I'd like to put together a "crit" bike - stiff light frame, ultegra, 32h open pros. A local shop has one left over in my size 53cm. I'm looking to do short fast crit rides on it so i want stiff and responsive. I hate BB and tt/headtube flex.

Thanks

I think if you buy a stock frame you won't be getting a 'crit' frame but a compromise that you justify is a criterium bike. I'll bet it wasn't specifically built for crits.

Save your money and have a custom frame built. It need not be expensive; just ignore the frou-frou custom frames. I'm thinking Gunnar would be an ideal choice. You're looking for the features which make up a criterium specific frame: higher bottom bracket, steeper head angle, shorter chainstays, and a stiff feeling.

While I can understand there might be features which would enhance a frame's suitability for criteriums, my opinion is it's not necessary to have one to win criteriums. It's more due to training, natural ability, bike handling, and risk taking. But if you think it would make your racing more enjoyable, go for it.

And if you keep your eyes peeled on e-Bay, you might spy a David Tesch frame. I believe they were built in the criterium style:
