That's why we all go to court when a traffic infraction in committed...

It's how laws are interpreted, rather than the law itself, that gets a lot of people in trouble. In this case it's the riders that pay!

The UCI is no joke, IMO. If the UCI is a joke, then everything else is... Including our revered Constitution, no? Every time you have an entity with too many rules and regulations and too many people involved in it, this is going to happen!

Now, this is nothing new... in 1989, Fignon complained that LeMond was allowed to use bars that were not UCI legal, but his protest did not stick.

but it is not just the ambuguity inherent in rules that makes the UCI a joke. Look at the Protour vs. Grandtour debacle and who won out there, the current weight limit and other regulations that have riders scrambling in the starting blocks.

Do you see any of this at Wimbledon, the NBA finals, etc? I thought not

They are a bunch of bloated reactionary old French farts who are holding back the sport. It should be up to the teams to decide what's safe. I bet the TT bikes they used on Saturday are slower than the track bikes at the '84 Olympics.
