I've got a '99 Record rear hub. I was having a problem with the freehub being very stiff to turn and hence not freewheeling - leading to slack chain on the upper run which flaps around dangerously close to the spokes in rough sections.
I completely stripped the entire hub at the weekend, installed new pawls and rebuilt it. I literally got about 5 miles down the road this morning before it started getting increasingly stiff again before refusing to turn at all.
Has anyone experienced this problem before, and can give me any pointers on what's going wrong? Many thanks in advance.
