Just scored a Vitus 979

Hi Guys

Just thought that i should share with you all. I have just purchased through EBAY a Vitus 979 (85 model). I know this is probably not the forum to post anything about an aluminium bike but i am excited by it. Looks good. Scored it for $AU247.00 (approx. US$175) on ebay. Great classic retro look even if it is made of aluminium.

The only problem is that the guy has placed Miele decals over the bike. I have found another pic of the same model & make of this Vitus 979

Would anyone know where i might be able to find some Vitus decals for my new acquisition??

I have never ridden a Vitus before and all that i have read indicates that these bikes have a bit of bottom bracket flex?? Anyhow .. for such a great price if it doesn't suit me i am sure that i should at the very least get my money back if i were to resell it.

There is a guy in Singapore who has had a number of Vitus items on eBay over the past six months, including decal sets and single decals of various types and sizes. His most recent item was just this last week--a Vitus lapel pin.

Set up a saved search for Vitus and/or Singapore and it's only a matter of time before you'll glom onto the guy.

Good luck! I have a black '84 979 . . . rode it for 17 years before getting my Serotta. Pretty frame! . . .
