I just glued these up two days ago and took them for a 120 mile romp in the Central Rockies yesterday. I did about 10K feet of vert which gave me lots of opportunity to feel the ups and downs of these two sisters ...and they were exactly what I expected ...very light, very smooth, vertically like a carpet ride, torsionally like a race ski. Big smile! :)

They're glued with Veloflex's Roubaix - 24mms of everyday rubber. I go with 90 psi in the front and 100 in the rear.

DT black spokes with silver alloy nips pairs up nicely in the context of aesthetics with the tied and soldered treatment.

Front is a 28 2x tied and soldered.

Rear is a 32 2x - 3x drive - tied and soldered.

I'm liking the DT ratchet system skewer too.

Wheels look very, very, nice.
But what really intrigued me was the DT rachets. I would appreciate a description of how they work (tightening and loosening) and how light/heavy they are. I haven't seen them available without the hubs...is that correct?
Thanks,
bobscott

The RWS skewers are not included with the hubs.

They are a ratchet ...in fact. The "tail" of the skewer simply spins clockwise to tighten and counter to loosen. Pull the spring loaded tail out along the axle path to disengage the ratchet and you can then easily place the tail at any point along the virtual clock's dial where you want it.

ATMO, this system more easily allows tightening and loosening than the traditional flip tail system. But there's nothing wrong with a flip system.

They are claimed to be 36 grams for the Road Titan.

What?!!

Do I need a 4 cm cross section piece of plastic to get a witness?

Maybe it's the cologne and acetone disco shirt I'm wearing...

...dated - just like box section rims.

Long live the box section rim!!
